Caring for Your Emma Easter Handcrafted Leather Bag
Each leather bag in my collection is handcrafted using premium leather, carefully selected for its quality and character. The natural variations make your bag truly unique.
Leather Types
My bags feature either:
- Chrome-tanned leather: Known for its softness and durability, but it never develops a patina
- Vegetable-tanned leather: Used selectively in certain designs, it develops a beautiful patina over time
Daily Care Tips
- Wipe your bag regularly with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust
- Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, which can cause fading
- Keep away from excessive moisture, though the leather has some water resistance
- Store in the dust bag provided when not in use
- Stuff lightly with acid-free tissue paper to maintain shape during storage
Handling Spills
- Blot (don't rub) any liquid spills immediately with a clean, dry cloth
- Allow to air dry naturally, away from direct heat sources
- For stubborn marks, consult a professional leather cleaner
Leather Conditioning
For optimal care, condition your leather bag every 6-12 months using a quality leather conditioner:
- Apply sparingly with a soft cloth using circular motions
- Allow to absorb fully before using the bag
- Buff gently to finish
Hardware Care
- All hardware is selected with sensitivity in mind, prioritising nickel-free options whenever possible
- Wipe metal components occasionally with a soft cloth
- Avoid exposing hardware to harsh chemicals
Remember that leather is a natural material that may develop character over time depending on its tanning process, making your handcrafted bag even more uniquely yours.
