Pending Payments

Understanding Pending Payments

From time to time, you may notice a payment showing as “Pending” in your bank account after shopping with me. This is usually a temporary authorisation hold and not an actual charge. It most often happens at in-person markets or events where internet connectivity can be patchy.

What this means

  • Pending transactions are created by your bank, not by me.

  • I don’t have access to these authorisations and cannot cancel them.

  • Your bank will automatically release the funds back to your account.

  • Release timeframes vary depending on the bank — typically between 2 and 28 days.

No action is required on your part. The pending amount will disappear automatically.

If you see a pending payment alongside a completed one

Sometimes, you may receive a receipt or order confirmation but still notice an extra “pending” transaction on your bank account.

  • You won’t be charged twice.

  • If you have a confirmation email (for online orders) or a Square receipt (for in-person purchases), your payment has been completed successfully.

  • The additional pending amount will clear from your account automatically within your bank’s timeframe.

How payments are processed

  • Online orders are processed securely through Shopify Payments (powered by Stripe), using SSL encryption.

  • In-person purchases are taken through my Square Terminal.

In both cases, I only ever receive one completed payment per purchase.

If you’re concerned

  • You’re always welcome to contact your bank for their exact release timeframe.

  • If a pending transaction remains visible for more than 7 days, feel free to get in touch with me and I’ll do my best to help reassure you.

✨ Rest assured: your payment is safe, secure, and only ever taken once.
